Tomato pie
One of my favorite dishes! Nothing beats a good ole tomato pie
Ingredients:
2 large tomatoes of your choice
Fresh basil
1 onion
Garlic - ask your heart
Sharpe cheddar
Pepper jack
Mayonnaise
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Aleppo pepper
1 pie crust
How to:
Pre-heat your oven to 375, lay in your pie crust, fork some holes and cook for about 10 minutes!
- slice your tomatoes, place them on a drying/cooling rack, sprinkle on some salt and let them sit for 10-15 minutes to pull out any extra moisture! Then pat with a paper towel to dry!
- in a bowl, combined your onion, garlic, seasonings and basil!
- in another bowl combined your cheese, mayonnaise and seasonings!
- once your pie crust is done, lay in y...

This looks freaking amazing Trazia! I have about 20 basil plants in my tomatoe bed that are huge and I've been trying to figure out what to do with it. Basil is supposed to make tomatoes next level and apparently it's true because everyone that eats my tomatoes say they're the best they've ever had.

I ate the first tomato sandwich of my life this weekend. I finally found a tomato i can eat, the Sart Rouise. Looks like a pineapple when its cut with hardely any seeds and zero slime. I get it now. I'll hook ya up.

Tried this recipe... the 4 cups of vinegar is WAY WAY WAY too much. Sour is an understatement. It was all vinegar, no pickle. This recipe is great with 2 cups vinegar, 2 cups water.
I’m glad you found a solution! I loveeee the brine the way it is, definitely overpowering for some! I’ll try the 2:2 and see if I like to better!! I drink the brine 😭😂 I LOVE vinegar. I need my stuff SOUR SOUR! there are some recipes out there with just vinegar and no water haha
@@TraziaRae Yeah I love sour too... like movie pickles they pack some punch. I let these sit for 48 hours but I don't know... maybe I just need to let them ride a little longer next time. I'll keep giving it a shot. Still good though. I'm still using the same recipe though before I venture to modify it any further.

@TraziaRae On the "Cajun" egg boil, you mentioned "for heat, I'm putting in some "something" pepper." I didn't catch what you actually used. Was it just red pepper flakes, or a certain powder you have?
Aleppo pepper is what she uses.
